Stuart Sarratt
About
Stuart practices in his hometown of Greenville, South Carolina, and has extensive experience representing clients facing trial on criminal charges ranging from drug possession to trafficking, felony DUI, murder, and other serious crimes. After graduating from Furman University with dual degrees in information technology and Asian studies, Stuart moved away from Greenville for the first time in 2007 and took a job teaching English at a university in Suzhou, China. It was there that he met his wife Elizabeth, who was raised in Pickens, and the two came home a year later so that Stuart could go to law school.
After passing the bar exam in 2011, Stuart moved back to Greenville and began his career as a public defender trying misdemeanor cases in the magistrate court. He honed his trial skills over the next decade, trying dozens of jury trials and winning acquittals on murder charges twice in addition to trials for criminal sexual conduct with a minor, driving under the influence, and many other felony and misdemeanor cases.
After leaving the public defender's office, Stuart went into private practice and opened a law office as a solo practitioner focused primarily on criminal defense. In 2025 he partnered with Maria Horta Vorse, and together they founded Sarratt & Horta Vorse, PA, representing clients in criminal and civil litigation matters.
